Hi everybody and Merry Christmas!
I was driving through Merritt right before Christmas when my friend stopped to heat his coffee up in his van and we happened to stop at, if you can imagine, a ‘dead rest stop’. Why would we even have such a wasteful entity in BC? At this ‘dead rest stop’ is a gorgeous log cabin and after a quick internet search, I jumped out of the van in disgust actually, and made this video. Just one example of your tax dollars “at work.”
Thank You for all your love and support, I feel it. Bring on 2025!

I believe in decentralization.
Why, because where you have centralized control, you have corruption. You have waste. You have decisions that make no sense at he local level. As humans we are very local, and can only understand what is around us. You cannot understand, or even things that you have never seen. At best, this building is a line item on a budget for someone in Victoria. That bureaucrat sitting in Victoria has their own set of agendas, and will promote those, and not maintain things they have never seen. It is human nature.
The solution, is the localize the control so that someone in Merritt gets to decide how to spend the tax dollars. Everyone in Merritt knows who that person is, and if the dollars are being poorly spent, that person will hear about it in the grocery store, Tim Hortons, Canadian Tire, etc.
When the person making the decisions in Victoria this is what the people of Merritt can expect.
